Its such a shame that Yahoo have decided to discontinue MyBlogLog and replace it with something they have called Yahoo Pulse but the annoying thing is they are not making it possible to import my old community into their new one so its like having to start again.
This is just another reason why putting all our business time and effort into third party platforms is not always worth it and we have to pick and choose what we develop. When I first started as a blogger in 2006 MyBlogLog was a great resource to get readers to your blog and to build a great community with other bloggers but lately it hasn’t really achieved the same kind of community spirit that it used to have although I will still retain a free great virtual friendships from people I met.
It does make more sense to have Yahoo Pulse which seems to be a wider community of people and not just related to bloggers but anyone who wants to share content. I have to admit I am growing a little tired of continually joining new sites but I don’t actively take part in anything run by Yahoo so will at least take a look.
Goodbye MyBlogLog – it was great while it lasted
