Using forum marketing – introduce yourself

If you are going to be successful at using forum marketing as a traffic generation strategy there is some work to do after you have registered.  The first thing you should do is complete your profile. Most forums will let you add a photo, a bit about yourself and a link to your blog. Some might include social media information too. complete all of that.

A lot of forums have specific threads designated for welcoming new members and you will be able to go there to introduce yourself so everyone can get to know about you. Your introductory post should basically inform the other members who you are and why you have joined the forum. The reason you give should not be in any way business-oriented. Making a sales-pitch in your first post will definitely be frowned on and may get you banned.

Do not post immediately. Most forums have at least one, large, close-knit community in it. If you suddenly post on a thread where discussions have been carried on for days, you shall be shunned and ignored. Spend some time going through the archives and figure out which topics are perennial favorites and which users are the unofficial leaders. Also observe the particular etiquette of the forum.

Start A Blog By Finding Great Niche Keywords

If you are thinking about how to start a blog I want to encourage you to start it on the right footing by finding great niche keywords. You hear a lot about niche marketing online. All that means is to find a little sub section in a market, one that has decent amount of interest but not much competition and fly under the radar. To do that, you will need to find niche keywords for that niche market.

There are many great markets you can make money in online. But you will save yourself a lot of time and effort if you don’t try to go toe to toe with the ‘big boys’.

For example, lets say you want to make money in the dog training market, which is an extremely competitive market. Why make your life harder than it needs to be by trying to go straight on against millions of competitors? That’s just silly.

Instead, why not find a ‘little’ sub section of that market where there will be much less competition but still enough interest for you to make a very nice living (and remember, this is just one blog. You can repeat this method as many times as you want and have dozens of niche blogs all helping you to make money blogging).

So, instead of focusing on such a broad term as dog training, why not find a niche that targets “training your puppy” Or how about “dog training for poodles” See what I mean, you are still in the dog training market but you are targeting a more precise sub section of the market instead of trying to throw a net over the whole ocean.

WordPress SEO Checklist

Your WordPress SEO Checklist, Dominate The Google Rankings

If you are getting frustrated watching your blog stagnate in the Google rankings and you actually want to make money blogging, then you will want to make sure you follow these tips. You need to make sure you research properly and the proper plugins installed. You also have to make sure your page is setup properly and you are creating content. Lastly you need to build backlinks to your content. Once you have read about these steps below, you will be able to skyrocket your site to the top of Google.

1. Research – You have to research your keywords. A lot of people, and I mean a lot, are going to tell you to look for low competition long tail keywords. I disagree. I say you go for the big guys first. Do your research of course though. If you want to rank for a spanish course then “Learn Spanish” is a great place to start. Using programs like Google’s free keyword tool you can find out an estimate of how many people search for a term. The higher the better. Do a Google search yourself and see if people are buying Paid Google ads – if so that means there is money to be made. Don’t be scared of very competitive terms either – that is where the money is.

2. Plugins – Make sure you install all applicable SEO related plugins on your blog. At the very least you should be installing All-IN-One Seo and XML Google Sitemaps. The first plugin will help with on page optimization, while the latter one will build a XML sitemap and submit it to Google. Do some research and see if any other SEO related plugins could fit on your site.
